It is with great sadness that the BC Forest Safety Council notifies the forestry community of a fatal incident that occurred on July 17th.
A 24 year old male working as a 2nd Loader Operator was bucking a log beside the road away from the loader when a log rolled resulting in a fatal crushing injury. The exact cause of the incident is still being determined and an investigation is ongoing to gather more information.
This is the 6th forestry related fatality of 2012. As more detail is made available, the Council will provide additional resources and information.
