British Columbia’s wood products manufacturers have come together in an unprecedented, voluntary collaboration to advance research and best practices in improving mill safety in response to devastating mill explosions in 2012. Our aim with these resources is to widely share our knowledge with all industry to prevent similar recurrences.
The wood manufacturing industry has done a lot of work to manage combustible dust hazards in our sawmills, as is evidenced in the inspections. While we are pleased with the progress, we know that this needs to continue to be an area of focus for us, and the resources on this page are updated regularly.
