Building a World Class Safety Culture

Thank you to everyone who joined us in exploring how to build a safety culture that will allow us to achieve world class safety results. Conference topics included: seven habits of world class organizations, alcohol and drug programs, and how to reach the next level of safety performance.

Conference highlights included presentations by:

• Corrie Pitzer – SAFEmap
• A senior representative from DuPont Safety
• Tom Yearwood – Workplace Alcohol and Drug Programs

The conference steering committee is made up of representatives from Labour, Industry, the BC Forest Safety Council and WorkSafeBC. Sponsorships from industry allow for free admission for delegates..

There was a trade show with targeted safety products and services for conference attendees. Refreshments and lunch were provided.

There was no charge for this conference. Attendees were encouraged to bring non-perishable food item to donate for the United Steelworkers' food bank.
