Supervisor Training

Supervisors are the front line workers responsible for ensuring good safety management on site and helping employees work safely every day.

This makes good safety sense – and it’s the law. Section 117 of the Workers Compensation Act requires supervisors to be knowledgeable regarding their responsibilities and requires them to make the workers they are supervising aware of all known or foreseeable health or safety hazards in the area where they work.

The BC Forest Safety Council provides two levels of supervisor training:

Supervisor training gives participants an understanding of the knowledge and skills they need to meet their legal responsibilities. It also raises awareness of a supervisor's leadership role in making sure their workers are safe.
