Supervision is critical to the safety of forestry workers. Based on the input of forestry supervisors across the province, the BC Forest Safety Council offers 3 courses that provide participants with skills and knowledge to help them oversee their workers effectively.

These courses are suitable for new or existing forest supervisors.  There are no prerequisites, and you can attend any or all courses. These courses are available in English only.  Participants will receive a certificate of completion for each course they finish.

Due Diligence for Forest Supervisors (module 1)
This two day classroom workshop will equip supervisors with knowledge of their legal responsibilities and how to prove due diligence.  This course can be delivered by request. Ask us about the details

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course, you should be able to:

• Explain a supervisor’s role in safety and production
• Identify legal requirements, policies and procedures
• Describe hazard identification and control

Leadership and Professionalism for Forest Supervisors (module 3)
This one day classroom workshop will help participants understand their strengths and weaknesses, and to recognize how their personal style impacts the workers they supervise.  Each participant must complete an online personality profile before the course.
